It started in 6th grade when I explained the thought process behind my work to my art teacher, unsolicited. She told me I should work in advertising. The day I took home a Gold Lion in the Cannes Master of Creativity program, I called that art teacher before I called my mom.

The second thing that made me realize I could succeed as a creative was a summer job as a door-to-door solicitor. Yes I did that. I learned I can get a door slammed in my face and keep moving down the block to find the house that will listen to my pitch and buy something. To date I’ve used that creative thinking and persistence to do things like:

Develop the world’s first Uber for bathrooms
Build life-sized apartments in NYC for America’s favorite spokescandies
Use AI to create the world’s largest film festival
Create a hotline where you can get a taste of summer all winter long
Invite the most famous royals to live in a small city in Ontario
Send Eric Wareheim to the top of a mountain to announce that meat eaters can love nature, too
Give women a safe space show off their love and knowledge of the NFL
